Deslúmbrame, 2026

A poetic exploration of desire and perception, inhabiting the threshold of presence and absence, where the impermanence of the image becomes integral to its emotional resonance.

The film was created for Love Letters to Cinema, a SHAIKE Original Series powered by Dreamina AI, presented during the inaugural SHAIKE Film Festival in La Ciotat, France, in October 2026. Bringing together 100 filmmakers from more than 30 countries, the project invited each director to create a personal cinematic tribute.

Rooted in the sensibility of nineteenth-century Pictorialism, Deslúmbrame explores the passage from photography into cinema through AI-generated imagery. Its visual language draws upon the relationship between stillness and movement, and the capacity of successive images to produce an emotional experience beyond what any single frame can contain. Through light, duration and disappearance, the film considers how an image can continue to resonate emotionally beyond the moment of its visibility.

The accompanying poem was written and recited by Miriam Pérez, with music by Russian composer Mariia Pakhotina. Their collaboration brought image, poetry and music into a creative dialogue, allowing each to contribute to the film's emotional language.
